That the law acts as iron chains on the poor and working class but merely gossamer threads on the rich is a key characteristic of class society, and simply a natural outcome of gross inequality of power. As such, anyone taking issue with any aspect of this principle is being <em>profoundly<\/em> political.<\/p>\n<p>The Democrats would have to be abject fools (or mere tools of the ruling elite) if they fail to take up this issue.
