Basically, it&#8217;s known to be functioning as Trump&#8217;s Gestapo:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aclu.org\/other\/constitution-100-mile-border-zone\">long had a tradition<\/a>, under many presidents, of operating outside constitutional norms. It routinely violates the Fourth Amendment.<\/li>\n<li>Unlike most labor unions, the union representing ICE agents is a right-wing organization that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.csmonitor.com\/USA\/Politics\/2016\/0927\/Did-ICE-endorse-Trump-No-but-a-union-of-5-000-immigration-agents-did\">endorsed Trump<\/a> in the 2016 election.<\/li>\n<li>ICE agents have <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2017\/01\/29\/customs-agents-ignore-judge-enforce-trumps-travel-ban-aclu\/\">deliberately ignored court orders<\/a> when the courts rule against Trump regime policies.<\/li>\n<li>People get <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/news\/national\/ny-news-trans-woman-beaten-ice-death-20181126-story.html\">tortured to death<\/a> in ICE detention.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It&#8217;s <em>entirely<\/em> in character for such an agency to provoke a confrontation for political purposes. In fact, the thesis that they did is the simplest and most consistent one going.
